A Celebration of Kindness
On the anniversary of the balloon, the town chose to pay tribute to the heroes and the inspirational story of Emily and Clara’s friendship by holding a special celebration. An art exhibit was set to show Clara’s paintings, reading of the stories of Emily, and a mass balloon release where people wrote messages from all over the community.
It was a testament to strength in unison and small gestures’ power to seriously change the world. The crowd went about their private stories of good deeds and belonging inspired by the story of the balloon. Kids ran through the fields playing with balloons in their hands, giggling as they launch their aspirations and hopes into the sky.
For Emily and Clara, the day would have remained a beautiful reminder of how their lives had been changed by that one note and a red balloon.
