Their Legacy Is Showing
Discovering and restoring the home for the couple marked a new perspective on legacy. For, they realized they were not merely updating a house but were becoming part of the continuing narrative, such as through adding their mark to the next layer of memories put down by each generation that succeeded the other. They were feeling blessed to be adding their chapter to this story.
They looked around at what had become their nearly finished home and felt fulfilled. No longer was the house a simple structure but a prized possession, “Where memories of old have been made and where so many more will forever be held”. They wished that their work there would be passed down to generations that could show the same love for, respect, and care to the house, worthy of the lives and labors that had built before them.
They would sit silently in these moments, imagining the generations to come walking through the house, finding all that they preserved. Maybe they’d be amazed by the same letters; maybe they’d like the old locket, too – and somehow, connected to it all, when history finally managed to come out from between the walls. Of this at least they are certain: their lives left behind were a legacy, for one thing, of passion and of care, to inspire all who would one day live there.
