Tom’s Growing Advocacy
Due to the puppies, Tom began to be involved in various activities related to animal welfare. He started visiting the shelter more frequently, helping out with everything from cleaning kennels to organizing adoption events. The staff was therefore appreciative and often referred to him as the puppies’ guardian angel.
He began speaking at schools and community gatherings, sharing the story of the roadside box and educating them on the urgency of rescuing and adopting animals. His message was impactful enough to touch many hearts, especially those of the youth, who wanted to know how they too could contribute.
Tom took his new passion to advocate for to his social media page, too. He regularly posted pictures of animals up for adoption and begged his followers to take a love dog home or make a monetary or other donation. This helped the shelter reach an expanded audience, with many more happy animals finding their forever homes.
