Reaching More People
With greater donations and support from the community, the shelter could operate at a higher level. They could construct more kennels, expand medical facilities, and employ staff to handle the ever-growing volume of animals in their care.
The shelter also implemented education programs that provide people with the need of responsible pet ownership and the spaying/neutering of animals. Those programs dealt with the causes of abandonment because most animals would no longer end up in shelters.
Tom featured prominently in these undertakings: he advocated for the shelter’s programs and encouraged involvement through his stage. He was awarded by local parties who appreciated him for having captured a moment of mercy and making that the enduring legacy of kindness.
