The Security Debate
The attention focused on the object brought immense pressure from the leaders of Oakfield to make sure that the artifact was well secured. While many of the villagers supported further study on the object, most demanded that the object was locked away out of the public’s eyes. This brought a tough decision for the village council: whether to keep the object to be put on display for the world to study or hide it away because its presence may bring unforeseen consequences.
Security measures were put into place, and the object was moved to a more controlled environment, away from the public at large. Military personnel were posted around Oakfield to deter looters, and only selected researchers were allowed to examine the artifact. All this, however, did little to ease the townspeople’s uncertainty. Was this object the herald of a new day and age, or was it something more sinister, something that needed to be locked away forever?
The debate over the security of this object had already caused tension in this village. As the power of this object seemed to grow by the hour, so did the fear of what may happen if it would fall into the wrong hands. Oakfield was now a battleground of opposing views, and no one knew how this story would end.
