The Ancient Connection
While the experts and modern scientists continued to dig into the weird nature of this mysterious object, Professor Helen Carter had begun digging into the ancient history of this village. She soon became embroiled in forgotten tales and events that had their inception in the times of an ancient civilization well before Oakfield was settled by early farmers. The tales had been passed through folklore and were communicated about an advanced civilization that was known for great technologies that were much beyond its time.
Archeology Professor Carter, in her search for the clue, discovered that the marks on the object were exactly like that mentioned in ancient texts referring to this lost civilization. The texts contained the references to an object which could influence the environment and control energy; it was said to be buried deep down into the earth so as to preserve its power. Some believed that it was very well hidden by the rulers of this civilization to keep its secrets from prying eyes, while others supposed it to have been a result of group travelers from some other world.
The theory of ancient connection was just starting to germinate. If the object was associated with some ancient civilization, then that could unlock many other things about their knowledge and technology. This possibility excited some, but it immediately made others raise even more questions. Was it the remnant of an ancient extraterrestrial visit? Or was it a lost relic from an old civilization that had long disappeared, leaving only behind one trace of its once-great power?
