The First Glance of the Object
The thing that William picked up was nothing that has ever been seen by anybody before. At once recognizable, it looked almost as if a very big round stone or a piece of metallic thing, but the inscription on its face seemed to be of some detailed and unnatural mechanism. There wasn’t any known language or symbols in the village, so people really couldn’t find what it meant, except that it caught their eyes in an unusual color with its sheen.
In a jiffy, William’s interest in it had piqued, and he called for assistants from his neighbors. These neighbors were equally bewildered when they saw the find: the item was the size of an alpine suitcase, pulsed with malevolent energy, and appeared endless. At that moment, the wife of the farmer, who normally took things lightly, became both cautious and intriguing and implored him to report the find to the village elders.
It took but hours for the chatter to spread from lip to lip and across the village like wildfire, each and every one of them speculating as to the origin of this thing. Maybe an ancient relic of some forgotten civilization, or possibly even the remnants of some lost meteor or celestial visitation. Whatever it was, one thing was for sure-the village would never be the same again.
