Theories of Extra-terrestrial Origins
As speculation continued to buzz, the most popular theory outside of the scientific community started being circulated around extraterrestrial origins. This object, bearing strange material, and/or unidentifiable markings, and energy field could very well have been from another planet; or, for that matter, another dimension. UFO enthusiasts pointed to reports of strange lights in the sky around the time of discovery suggesting it could have fallen from space.
In Oakfield, the locals were split on the idea. Some were skeptical of extraterrestrial explanations, attributing the object to something more grounded in reality, like an ancient artifact or military equipment. But for others, the thought that Oakfield had become the site of an alien encounter was both exciting and terrifying. The small village had become the center of a global conversation about UFOs, space exploration, and the mysteries of the universe.
Together with the growing media attention, the controversy over the origin of the object became even more discussed. Others were demanding that the scientists test the specimen once again, not to prove or disprove the existence of the extraterrestrial involvement. The folk residents of the area began to experience strange phenomena: electrical appliances that were malfunctioning, eerie noises in the nights, and even some lights began appearing in the fields where the object was found. To some, theories about alien visits began to look more and more likely while others dismissed it as coincidences.
