The Advantages of Living near Nature
The houseboat really brought Sarah and Jake closer to nature than they ever had been before. They’d wake up to birdsong, water sounds, and rustling in trees and wildlife constantly nearby; it created a constant sense of connecting with nature. Waking up to the birds’ chirping and the gentle rocking of the boat-the differences were not too palatable when compared to the noise and air pollution they were once accustomed to in the city.
This constant exposure to nature proved a significant physical and mental health benefit. Being next to the water, Sarah and Jake engaged in frequently taking kayaks, swimming, and hiking. The physical exercise kept them in form and filled them with energy, while the calm nature encouraged them to de-stress from their busy lives.
It also reminded her of the importance of caring for the environment. Sarah and Jake became more cognizant of the impact they had on the world. They learned how to waste less, save energy, and keep the waterways they resided upon clean. Living with nature became a big part of their values. The new life inspired them to go even greener as they navigated through all these changes in lifestyle.
