Intent to Sell
He really loved the painting, but there was no denying of the fact he’d made a windfall. He knew he just couldn’t ignore the fact. Selling of the painting would sure fetch him means out of this squalor and unlock new avenues, giving him financial security, and if one were to pursue now deemed impossible dreams to attain. A tempting option, it would enable him to turn his discovery into a lasting advantage.
He could travel, invest in passions he had put to one side, or even start his own business. The painting had already opened up his mind a little to the nature of art, and the money that would come from selling it could serve him in a formative way, continuing that that formative curve. But parting with that painting was leaving behind a story, too.
He considers how it would feel after years of selling, regretting his decision. He would not miss the painting if he had it in his house. He would miss how it reminds him of the wonderful turns his life had taken. On the other hand, the tangible satisfaction of selling off the painting is coupled by the finality of giving part of his own history away.
