Close Call-Emergency Involving Feelings
Emotional trauma was left on most of the passengers; to date, some remain unable to think over strong feelings that entered their life during this crisis. The possibility of death made every passenger face their mortality, leaving some scarred for life. Over the following days, the passengers wrestled with a mix of feelings—relief and gratitude, but in many cases, still fear.

For others, the experience created the moment of transformation-something to provoke love and reconciliation with family members or pursue long-postponed dreams. The close call reminded them to value life; they wanted to live more fully, making each day mean everything. In some cases, comfort was found in sharing stories-an occasion to reflect on resilience, gratitude, and strength in unity.
The traumatic experience of the unscheduled landing then became a common experience that will in some ways transform people. It reminds them of life’s fragility and encourages them to make meaning out of the experience, making this terrifying event a great lesson for survival of the human spirit.
