Natural Light Usage
Natural light also had a place in designing the cave house, making stone interiors bright and well-welcoming. As part of the fight against natural darkness a rock-embedded home posed, the constructor disposed large windows and skylights strategically to every room. Such openings do not only lighten the house but offer great views of the surrounding landscape as well.
The builder has chosen energy-efficient glass. This way, the house will minimize heat transfer into the building and, therefore, maintains the indoor temperature. Glass lets through sunlight thus providing warmth; artificial lighting will not need to be on the whole day since there is natural light coming from it. This thoughtful approach assures that the house feels open and airy yet energy efficient.
The outcome is a dwelling that feels almost like the house is of the landscape, such that each room captures a different view of the landscape. This puts extra importance on natural light, which improves on the organic feel of the cave house to beautiful spaces that are comfortable.
