Safe Parking Lots
Parking lots are a preferred site for windshield marking gangs. Such places have little or no surveillance and ample opportunity to pick on unsuspecting victims. Thus, while parking, opt for brightly lit areas with plenty of people around.
When you are walking back to your car, have your keys out and scan the area for anything out of the ordinary. Don’t linger in a parking lot more than absolutely necessary—slide into your vehicle, lock up, and leave. If you see a smear on your windshield, clean it out whenever you are safely stopped.
Many shopping malls and public parking areas now employ security patrols or cameras to enhance safety. Take advantage of these measures by parking in visible areas with high foot traffic.
