When you see a suspicious mark on your automobile, you want to check it right away. But you need to resist the urge and take some time before acting on it. If you are in a remote place or bad lighting, do not wait there to try and investigate.

First, drive to a well-lit place, like a gas station, store, or another populated environment. Then you can take a closer look at the mark without having the feeling of being threatened.
