Reflecting on Her Dreams and Aspirations
He also came to reflect on the dreams and aspirations his wife had left him. Letters and journals which had formerly reminded him of her absence were now the inspirations. He realized that the many detailed writings regarding the dreams his wife had would indeed be a blueprint for a good life, and this dawning occurred to him: he could honor her memory by fulfilling some of those dreams.
He went to the countries he had dreamed of visiting, read books she had always wanted to read, and began pursuing passions she left unfulfilled. He did all of those things: joined causes she cared about, worked on projects that align with her goals, and shared her story with others. This is keeping the memory alive, but he can also live out the hopes and dreams they would share, giving him the purpose and peace to carry on without her.
Through this journey, he found himself with a new purpose in life, no longer stuck in grief, but instead, becoming a quiet motivation to live with honor of his wife. He came to be appreciative of the moments they had but determined now to take forward the good qualities she was blessed with – what made her special and the dreams she had for the future.
