The Letters and the Unsaid Words
Some of the most surprising things he uncovered were letters and jots she wrote to family members and friends throughout the years. In these letters, he found words full of deep thoughts, accounts of her childhood, and emotions expressed at different times in her life. Even letters she had written to her parents, in which she had confided to them of her hope, fear, and the difficulties that loomed before them.
Some of them even revealed things he had never known in his wife’s life, like relationships she kept with family members, long-standing dreams he had no idea of, and some of the troubles she survived. Love words filled these letters along with full appreciation for him. Again, the husband got confused since he never realized his wife felt that way. It was a comforting comfort and a sorrow all at once.
He was so touched by the silent words: things she’d never mentioned in clear words to him. Perhaps at times, she would have loved to express these aspects, but the moment never seemed right, nor did she even expect him to find them for himself or hadn’t found the correct words. After all, the letters had opened a window of her soul for him-that one he had never expected.
