Giving back to community
As the years passed by since he started as a musician, he sensed a strong urge to return the support that had been given to him on his journey. Encouraged by the stories of Jack’s selflessness and kindness to others, he chose to find free music workshop opportunities for young aspiring musicians in the area. He felt like sharing the same motivation and help that Jack must have given to other people in finding their voice.
Soon enough, the workshops got a lot of interest, and he was teaching students from all walks of life. He loved working with the students where he could actually share techniques he had learnt, stories about his experiences, and lessons he gathered from his journey. Reminded him why he has followed his dreams through the years, recognizing that same spark he has identified in himself when he started every session being a tribute to Jack, the only way to keep his spirit alive by inspiring this new group of artists.
These workshops gave him renewed sense. Music was no longer the only thing he was now passionate about-it had become a source for uplifting others and nurturing a sense of community. It was fulfilling as it showed him that Jack’s legacy was not only in the guitar but also what his impact would leave behind. He recognized, however, that he was continuing in the same tradition and, at the same time, taking Jack’s influence in a whole new direction.
