Learning about Jack’s influence on the community
Inquire from the youth more about Jack, he understood that his influence in the community went beyond the melodies he sang. He was a mentor, alway encouraging talent and passing his knowledge to the aspiring musicians. He believed in the power of music as unifying force that would help bring people together, and he often played at charity events raising money for local causes. Many remembered Jack for his ballads, but many also remembered him for his kindness and generosity.
These stories inspired the young man. He realized that he was getting in touch with more than just the music Jack played; it was about the lives Jack had touched and shared. Jack was out there making his own difference, uplifting others, and touching people together in a community. That realization really gave the young man the urge to continue on along the line of Jack.
The more he learned about Jack, the more he wanted to honor the memory of that gentle soul. He decided on doing just that: he would try to keep on doing what Jack used to do-in this case, sharing music with others, using his talents to make a difference in some way. He knew there was no way to fill the loss, but maybe in some sense, he could carry on Jack’s spirit. Maybe he could be kind to others like Jack, dedicating himself as Jack had. The guitar had lent him a sense of direction, something to connect with others and contribute to something meaningful.
