Building a New Community Around Music
As this young man’s performances became popular, he seems to be a part of a new musical community. From the teenagers to seniors, people are watching him live shows, and people were brought together by the story of Jack and the heartfelt music he had shared. He learned that music is the universal one-one capable of bridging generations and relationships between people from different walks of life.
He began hosting small gatherings following his performances. He invited guests there to share their stories and reminisce about music. Gathering became a place for people to reunite with each other, reminiscence about their own experiences, and comfort themselves with a shared love of music. Using the gatherings, he established a type of community, as Jack had done so many years ago.
This stirred the young man since he received connections through friendship ties and stories. People started telling him of other people’s connections with music. Connections relating to melodies that had even changed their lives, and memories of particular melodies. He realized that just like Jack, he was hence able to unite people through music. It had all completed in a circle, because he was now expressing Jack’s legacy in his way through music, creating that space where everybody could feel and be understood and inspired.
